Police in St. Thomas, Ontario want your help in finding some stolen cannabis

Police in St. Thomas, Ontario are asking for the public’s help in finding any information about two cannabis plants stolen from someone’s backyard earlier this week.

Police are asking anyone with any information about the theft, from a backyard in a residential neighbourhood, to come forward. They also advise any home growers to harvest their plants as soon as they are ready.

Theft of home grown cannabis has always been a problem, but has now become a reality for many homeowners who have made advantage of the four plant allowance in all provinces except Quebec and Manitoba. As harvest season approaches and more cannabis plants reach maturity, the risk of theft increases.

“Two mature cannabis plants were stolen from the backyard of a Hiawatha Street home sometime Tuesday overnight.  If you have any information about this theft or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS Refer to Case #ST20017194.

Reports of Cannabis theft spike during harvest season.  If you are currently growing Cannabis for personal use, please consider removing your plants as soon as they are ready.”
