Prince George RCMP raid underground cannabis and psilocybin bunker

| Staff

Prince George RCMP released info today about four recent large drug busts, including one that involved commercial cannabis and psilocybin production.

The cannabis and psilocybin facility involved what RCMP say was steel shipping containers placed in an underground bunker and buried into a hillside. The containers held a “psilocybin production grow operation”, along with a cannabis oil extraction lab with commercial equipment and processing station; and a commercial grade packaging area for the illicit sale of cannabis, shatter and edibles.

Police also located advent calendars produced for distribution of illicit cannabis products.

The cannabis extraction lab and the production and sale of psilocybin are estimated by RCMP to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue annually.

Police also executed search warrants that resulted in the seizure of 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, prescription pills, hundreds of doses of steroids and thousands of doses of GHB, along with $35,600 in cash, a Dodge Ram 1500 and a 2020 GMC Canyon Denali. At one site police seized suspected cocaine packaged for resale, suspected steroids and prescription pills including Adderol, Cialis and Xaanax.

Seven people were arrested, many of whom police say have links to organized crime.
