Perth OPP seize $80,000 of cannabis in holiday road enforcement

Last week, police in Perth, Ontario charged two people they discovered to be in possession of a large amount of cannabis, cannabis gummies, and cannabis extracts during a “Festive RIDE spot check“.

Perth OPP say the cannabis was worth approximately $80,000 worth of cannabis products. the two face charges under the Cannabis Act include possession for the purpose of selling, and possession for the purpose of distributing.

According to local media, on December 18, members of the Perth County OPP and the West Region OPP traffic incident management and enforcement team were conducting a RIDE program in Perth, Ontario.

A 39-year-old and 56-year-old were charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing. The 39-year-old was held in custody pending a bail hearing while the 56-year-old was charged and released.
