Nova Scotia cannabis producer AtlantiCann Medical has voluntarily recalled one lot of dried cannabis, sold through the Ontario Cannabis Store and Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.

The lot of MSIKU White Wedding was labelled incorrectly – the value of total THC in mg/g indicated on the label is higher than the actual value in the product. The total THC indicated in percent w/w was stated correctly.

In a public notice, Health Canada says that AtlantiCann Medical Inc. has only received one complaint to date and Health Canada has not received any complaints related to the recalled lot. Neither Health Canada nor AtlantiCann Medical Inc. have received any adverse reaction reports for the recalled cannabis product lot.

There were 4,176 units of the recalled product sold and between January 27, 2021 and February 4, 2021. If consumers wish to return this product, they are instructed to contact the retail store where the product was purchased.

Issues with labelling is one of the most common reasons for a cannabis recall. In April, Peace Naturals Project recalled one lot of CBD cannabis extract that was sold through Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation because the back label of the product, containing information on cannabis equivalence, packaging date, lot number and net weight, is missing from the product.

Also in April, BC processor We Grow BC also had a product recalled due to a labelling error.

There have been at least 11 cannabis-related recalls this year and more than 30 since legalization began.
