Ontario Provincial Police say they seized more than 11,000 cannabis plants at a recent raid in Meaford, worth over $12 million.

Grey Bruce OPP, along with the OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Canine Unit, Aviation Services, Provincial Assets and Forfeiture Unit and the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Team executed the search warrant at the rural property, arresting and charging seven individuals with various Cannabis Act violations such as cultivation, propagation of harvesting of any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling house and possession for the purpose of distributing.

The names of those arrested were not made public as of press time.

This is only the the most recent in an ongoing string of such raids in Ontario over the past year. Just last week, OPP seized several thousand plants in a handful of similar raids.
