Ontario Provincial Police say they’ve seized over $1-million worth of illegal cannabis from a location in Leamington.

Members of the Essex OPP Community Street Crime Unit, along with the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team, executed a warrant on Talbot Road East in Leamington on Sunday. Police seized cannabis plants along with packaged cannabis valued at approximately $1.2 million.

Police say they seized more than 2,400 cannabis plants as well as 16,000 grams of packaged cannabis and processing equipment.

Although valuation for seized cannabis can fluctuate, the OPP in recent years has ascribed a value of $1,000 per cannabis plant, and around $5 a gram for dried cannabis.
