Edmonton Police asking for assistance identifying man connected to cannabis store robberies

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect following multiple robberies of a cannabis store on 118 Avenue.

On March 14, 2025, at 9:25 p.m., police say a male entered a cannabis store in the area of 97 Street and 118 Avenue in Edmonton and demanded cash from the till, telling the clerk he had a gun while reaching into a shopping bag he was carrying.

Days later, on March 18, 2025, the same suspect entered the same store at 12:19 p.m. and again demanded cash from the till. On the second occurrence, the suspect did not mention a firearm. The suspect reportedly fled on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as approximately 5’5” tall. In the first occurrence, he wore a black zip-up hoodie, black pants, black and white Nike shoes, sunglasses, and a white mask. In the second occurrence, he was wearing a pink balaclava on his head.

The Edmonton Police Service was also recently asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect responsible for robbing a cannabis store in south Edmonton in October and November 2024.

Calgary Police recently charged a 15-year-old male in relation to three cannabis store robberies that occurred in March.

A cannabis store near Calgary also faced an attempted break-in on Friday, February 28.

Cannabis stores in Canada continue to be targets for robbers and burglars. Ontario cannabis retailers have recently expressed their frustration following a recent string of robberies.
