A 32-year-old male resident of Brantford stands charged with the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code and Cannabis Act.
The charges are the result of a drug investigation launched in January 2024 by the Brantford Police Service Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response Unit (TIGER) and the assistance of the Brantford Police Service High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT).
As a result of the investigation, on Friday, January 26, 2024, with the assistance of the Brantford Police Services Emergency Response Team, four Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrants were granted and executed at locations within the City of Brantford: Grand River Avenue, Henry Street, Colborne Street West, and a vehicle.
Police say they seized:
- Approximately 6,498 grams of suspected hashish, with an estimated street value of $129,960
- Approximately 72.72 kilograms of dried cannabis, with an estimated street value of $727,000
- Approximately 450 packages of cannabis oil, with an estimated street value of $2,250
- Approximately 972.4 grams of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $97,240
- Approximately 516 grams of suspected MDMA (Ecstasy), with an estimated street value of $10,330
- Approximately 452.7 grams of suspected psilocybin, with an estimated street value of $4,527
- Packaging materials, digital scale
- Stun gun
- Canadian currency
The total estimated street value of the seized illicit drugs is $971,297. As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old male resident of Brantford, stands charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code and Cannabis Act violations: Possession for the purpose of trafficking x3, Possession of a prohibited device, Possession for the purpose of distribution.
The accused was held for bail.
