Police in Kelowna say they have arrested two men suspected of selling LSD, psilocybin, and cannabis to local teens.
The Kelowna RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Section, acting on tips from the public, identified two male suspects who were selling the substances throughout Kelowna. Teenagers are reported to have contacted the suspects using text messaging in order to receive a product menu and arrange a meeting time and place.
On December 9, 2021, the Kelowna RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Section executed a search warrant at a condo in the 1700 block of Richter Street to make two arrests following this investigation. The two men, ages 37 and 50, were arrested and will both be facing several charges under the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act and Cannabis Act.
Police seized approximately four pounds of Psilocybin, 40 pounds of cannabis, 1,300 tabs of LSD, as well as $10,000.00 in cash and a 2017 Jaguar SUV. Police say the LSD was enough to supply nearly an entire local high school.
