Three people have been charged under the Cannabis Act after police raided an unlicensed cannabis store in Amherst, Nova Scotia. 

On October 17, the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (CISCEU) arrested two people before executing a search warrant at a location on South Albion St. The search warrant followed public complaints about the ongoing sale of cannabis from the illegal storefront.

During the search, investigators seized hundreds of grams of illicit cannabis in various forms, as well as psilocybin products.

Then, on October 28, a third person was arrested in connection with the investigation.

Thirty-two-year-old Cody Edward Joseph Bowser-Knockwood of Dorchester, New Brunswick; 48-year-old Kevin Richard Gloade of Amherst; and 40-year-old Erika Lynn Nickerson of Amherst will appear in court at a later date to face the following charges:

• Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distributing
  
• Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling
  
• Possession of Unstamped Cannabis

The individuals have also been charged with Possession of Psilocybin for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Bowser-Knockwood and Gloade are charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

In August, RCMP arrested three while conducting a raid at a business on Albion St in Amherst after receiving several complaints regarding the sale of cannabis from a parked utility trailer.

During the search, officers say they seized illegal cannabis and cannabis edibles, a quantity of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), along with a quantity of cash.

The business in question appears to be the Mi’kma’ki Truck House located at 60 S Albion St. Amherst.
