Law enforcement executed a search warrant in Moncton, New Brunswick on October 13 and seized about $136,000 worth of cannabis, cannabis products, vaping products, and currency from an illegal cannabis dispensary.

The search, in coordination with Peace Officers with the Department of Justice and Public Safety and with support from the Codiac Regional RCMP, resulted in the seizure of more than a dozen kilograms of cannabis, 1.5 kg of hash, 91 disposable vape pens, 130 vape carts, 255 grams of live resin,  52 grams of RSO, 200 grams of edibles, and about $10,400 in cash.

Two men, aged 41 and 44, were arrested and later released. The matter remains under investigation, and charges are being considered.

The Department of Justice and Public Safety in New Brunswick reminds the public that Cannabis NB is the only legal retailer of recreational cannabis in New Brunswick. Illegal dispensaries are not regulated and often sell products targeting young people. These dispensaries also sell products that are not tested or approved by Health Canada.

In August, peace officers with the New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety, along with support from the Codiac Regional RCMP, executed another search warrant in Moncton and seized about $280,000 worth of cannabis, tobacco, mushrooms, and currency from an illegal cannabis dispensary.
