St. Albert, Alberta police want public’s help finding person involved in cannabis store break-in

RCMP in St. Albert, Alberta are asking the public for assistance in locating at least one man who broke into a cannabis store on St. Thomas Street on November 27 and 28.

Police say a suspect entered the store on November 27 at approximately 11:30 p.m, but did not appear to take any merchandise or property. Then at 7:30 the following morning a man entered the cannabis store by removing the repair on the broken glass window and unlocking the front door, leaving with a lighter and pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes.

Police believe it may be the same individual, although they describe them as not the same age. The only cannabis store listed on Alberta’s cannabis retailer page on St. Thomas Street in St. Albert is called The Wanted Leaf. St. Albert is a suburb northwest of the City of Edmonton.

The man in the first incident is described as 40-50 years old with a grey beard, and slim build, wearing a baseball cap, a dark jacket with grey design on the sleeves and a blue logo on the front, with dark pants, and winter hiking boots and a bright orange backpack.

The man in the second incident is described as 25-35 years old, with a slim build, an orange/white backpack with black padding grey, and wearing a white baseball cap, a dark jacket with a print pattern over the entire jacket and a larger blue logo on left chest area.

St. Albert RCMP is asking the public for assistance in identifying the male responsible for both break & enters & theft.

Alberta requires all retailers keep all cannabis stored in a locked storeroom accessible only by authorized employees after working hours.
