Quebec-based cannabis producer Vortex Cannabis has recalled one lot of their Sour Berry Jelly Drops sold through authorized retailers in Ontario, due to inaccurate labelling. 

According to Health Canada, some products within this lot (FP-22MA-005) are labelled with an incorrect name and incorrect cannabinoid values, where the THC and total THC labelled values are higher than the actual THC and total THC values.  

The label indicates the products are “Sour THC Jelly Drops 10 MG THC Per Drop” but should have been labelled as “Sour Berry Jelly Drops 10X1MG”, meaning the products only contained 1 mg of THC each, not 10 mg each.

Vortex has so far received two complaints related to the incorrect product name on the product label of Sour Berry Jelly Drops. Health Canada has not received any complaints related to the recalled lot. Neither Health Canada nor Vortex Cannabis Inc. have received any adverse reaction reports for the recalled lot.  

There were 540 units of the product that were sold on July 12 and July 13, 2022 prior to being recalled. 

Health Canada’s recall notice says that consumers who have purchased the affected product and wish to return it may visit the retail store where the product was purchased. 

Health Canada also reminds Canadians to report any health or safety complaints related to the use of this cannabis product or any other cannabis product by filling out the online complaint form. Vortex currently lists at least two other edibles on the OCS.ca that were not impacted by the recall.

Inaccurate labelling is one of the most common reasons for a cannabis product recall in Canada.
