Police in Ontario have announced the seizure of thousands of pounds of cannabis and thousands of cannabis plants from illicit cannabis grows this week. 

On June 14, members of the provincial joint forces cannabis enforcement team (PJFCET), along with Niagara Regional Police announced that they had seized 2,200 pounds of processed cannabis from a large greenhouse grow facility in St. Catharines on June 11. Police also seized more than 14,000 cannabis plants and charged ten people with harvesting cannabis without operation.  

Images shared by the OPP show multiple greenhouses with cannabis at various stages of the grow cycle, as well as large quantities of dried flower. 

On June 16 members of the PJFCET executed a search warrant of a property on Aikins Rd in Quinte West and seized approximately 3,500 illicit cannabis plants, including over 800 pounds of dried cannabis. Three people were charged.
