Police in Sudbury raid unlicensed cannabis store, seize $225,000 worth of products

Police in Suburry, Ontario recently executed a search warrant at an unlicensed cannabis store.

In a press release, the Sudbury Integrated Crime Section – Drug Enforcement Unit says they began an investigation into the dispensary after receiving numerous complaints from community members. 

The investigation culminated in a Cannabis Act search warrant being executed at a local business on Lasalle Boulevard on March 9, 2022.

As a result of the investigation and execution of the search warrant, detectives reportedly arrested two individuals and seized various cannabis products with an estimated value of $225,000, as well as evidence supporting the illegal operation of the business.

A 42-year-old man and a 38-year-old man have been charged with Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling contrary to the Cannabis Act. Their names cannot be released as the information has not yet been sworn to through the Court process. 

Both individuals were released on an Undertaking with a First Appearance Court date of May 5, 2022.
