Brantford Police raid unlicensed cannabis store for the second time in a week

A foot patrol by Police in Brantford, Ontario, led to a new raid of an illicit cannabis store that had just been raided by police a few days prior.

On April 16, 2025, Brantford Police Service Core Engagement and Response Team members (CERT) were conducting a foot patrol and noticed that a cannabis store, which had been raided by police on April 10, was again open and operating.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at the retail location, and approximately $47,000 of illegal cannabis was seized.

As a result, a 50-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and stands charged with Possession for the Purpose of Selling under the Cannabis Act

The previous raid in April had resulted in the arrest of two Barrie men and the seizure of what police say was over $130,000 in illegal cannabis products.

Although no information about the store was provided in police press releases, Google Maps lists an unlicensed cannabis store called Baouhawk Cannabis at the intersection of Colborne Street and Clarence Street, which matches the police information about the store and raids.
