Calgary Police say they have charged two teens in relation to multiple cannabis store robberies that occurred in January and February 2025.

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, at approximately 9:40 pm, three unknown suspects entered Four20, located at 418 16 Ave. NW, posing as customers. It is believed the suspects asked the employee to open one of the displays so they could view the products, at which time the suspects pushed the employee, grabbed an unknown amount of products and fled the store.

On Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at approximately 10:10 pm, it is believed the same three unknown suspects entered Four20 located at 425 Aviation Rd. NE, and once again, asked to see products. The employee opened the display, and the suspects subsequently physically assaulted and restrained the employee before fleeing the store with an unknown amount of products.

On Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at approximately 10:05 pm, the same three suspects are believed to have entered Highland Buds, located at 5010 Fourth St. NE. The suspects went behind the counter to access products, and at the same time, an employee attempted to prevent the suspects from entering the area, but was physically assaulted. The suspects subsequently fled the store with products.

The Robbery Unit began an investigation and, based on evidence collected, including CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses, it was determined that the same suspects were responsible for all three robberies.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, search warrants were executed on three different residences related to the suspects in the communities of Greenview, Huntington Hills, and Beddington, as well as two vehicles believed to have been used in the robberies.

Key pieces of evidence were seized, including three cellphones and clothing that was believed to be used during the robberies.

As a result, three male youths aged 14, 16, and 17 were arrested.

The 16-year-old was charged with three counts of robbery and one count of disguise with intent.

The 17-year-old was charged with three counts of robbery.

They will both appear in court on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

The 14-year-old was released as investigators continue to analyze evidence.

The teens cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
